Professional Dental Cleanings & Dental Exams to Keep Your Teeth Healthy and Bright
Dental Cleanings and Dental Exams in Boynton Beach, FL
Taking care of your smile before a problem starts is easier than fixing it after the problem has begun. With regular dental cleanings and dental exams, Dr. Rosenblatt can help you identify the problems areas early and take care of them before they cause bigger issues.
Why are dental exams and dental cleanings so important?
There is a saying that “prevention is always the best medicine.” That sums up why exams and cleanings are so important. This is the time that Dr. Rosenblatt will be able to look over your teeth and gums and find any early signs of problems. Catching issues early is crucial to getting them resolved quickly. The longer they are allowed to flourish, the more damage they will do. Cleanings are just as important as exams. Even if you show no symptoms of developing issues, you still need to have your teeth professionally cleaned. No matter how often you brush and floss or what kind of toothpaste you use, there is still debris left in your teeth, especially the hard-to-reach parts. Your toothbrush also does not remove all of the plaque and tartar that builds up on and under your gumline. A professional dental cleaning at our office will clear these problem-causing agents and leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean.
What is the process like?
The first step is to become a patient of Hugh B. Rosenblatt, DMD, PA. You need to schedule an appointment and then fill out your new patient paperwork. You can download the forms online and fill them out before your appointment. After you give us your paperwork, you will receive a welcome gift as a new patient of Dr. Rosenblatt. Then it’s time for your appointment to begin.
- Cleaning with the Hygienist – Your appointment will start with one of our dental hygienists, who will take digital X-rays of your mouth. This will give us a point of reference for the health level of your teeth and entire mouth. After the exam, the hygienist will thoroughly clean your teeth and look for any obvious areas of concern. These will be noted so that Dr. Rosenblatt can look them over during your exam.
- Exam with Dr. Rosenblatt – Dr. Rosenblatt will examine your mouth and find any areas that may need further attention. He will also perform an oral cancer screening using an OralID screening device. The special UV light is great for identifying problem areas that may be developing. For new patients, you and the dentist will have an opportunity to talk about what you want from your dental care here. From there, Dr. Rosenblatt will identify any problems and work up a treatment plan with you. We try to get your cleaning and full exam taken care of in one visit whenever possible. This saves you from having to make multiple trips to the office.
How often should I come back to see Dr. Rosenblatt?
You should come in and see us every six months. This allows us to stay on top of your dental health. The last thing we want is for something to slip by because too much time passed between your dental appointments.
